Two former Coventry City players helped The Coventry Charity Football Cup present cheques worth a record total of £15,360 to twenty four Coventry & Warwickshire based charities at its annual presentation evening at the Christ The King Club.
Former Sky Blues Dietmar Bruck and Ken Brown presented cheques to the Footballers Welfare Fund and the Macular Society whilst cheques were presented to the following charities; Sycamore Counselling Services, Community Broadcasting Services, Coventry Deaf Sports & Social Club, Coventry Resource Centre For The Blind, Sahara Coventry Ltd, Guide Dogs For The Blind, Island Project, Mary Ann Evans Hospice, SMA Support, Coundon Care For The Elderly, Mercia Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre, RAFA Club, RSPCA (Coventry Branch), Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance, Zoe’s Place, St Paul’s Church Foleshill, Cherish Dementia Holiday Trust, Leading Players, Acorn’s Children’s Hospice, Renal Research Unit UHCW and BASICS.
The evening for the Charity Cup which has its final at the Ricoh Arena, raised £650 from a game of Heads N Tails and a raffle and saw a picture presented to 2015 cup winners Coventry Copsewood.FC
