Coventry City have had Scunthorpe United keeper Joe Murphy watched in the last couple of months.
City's Goalkeeping Coach Steve Ogrizovic has been to check on the 28 year old former Tranmere, West Brom, Walsall and Sunderland keeper, who has been in the Republic Of Ireland squad and a factor in The Irons getting into this season's League One play-offs.
Murphy made 70 appearances for Tranmere and six for West Brom where he saved a penalty against Michael Owen. He joined Scunthorpe in 2006 and has made 132 appearances.
