Coventry City have signed Charlie Wakefield.
The defender/midfielder joined Chelsea aged 12 and has FA Youth Cup and UEFA Youth League winners medals.
Adi Vivash, now Mark Robins assistant, gave the 20 year old his Chelsea U21's debut in 2016/2017.
Reports say that Wakefield, is out of contract on June 30th but can leave if he can find a new club which he has done, by ending his contract with the Premier League club and signing a one and a half year deal with the Sky Blues, following a free transfer..
Mark Robins told the club website about signing Wakefield: “We are very pleased to have signed Charlie. He has a very good upbringing through the Chelsea Academy, where he worked with Adi Viveash, and he was successful in his time there.
“He is a player with great technical ability and a lot of pace too, and will really add to our squad. We look forward to working with him, as he is a player who also has great potential to improve even further.”
