Coventry City have signed James Scowcroft on a three year deal subject to a medical.

The midfielder started at Ipswich Town where he made 248 appearances scoring 55 times before lowering his standards to sign for Leicester City where he spent four years making 147 appearances and scoring 27 goals.

He finished last season back on loan at Portman Road before being released by Craig Levine.

Micky Adams told the club website: "James is a player who is proven at the top level. "He has a lot of qualities and can play in a variety of positions across the front line. I worked with him at Leicester and I know that he will be a very valuable addition to our squad."
