Speaking to the CT, Mr Ranson said: "It's so far so good. We are about where we want to be at this stage.
"We have done a lot of hard work to secure our priority targets and we're still looking to strengthen the squad.
"The manager would like a couple of players in and we are actively working to achieve that.
"It might be that we have some news today,but we are where we are and there are no quick fixes."
Clinton Morrison and Stephen Wright are still to be signed whilst Coleman remains on the look out for a right sided midfielder.
