Coventry City manager Andy Thorn has described the letters of support and fans backing he has received from City supporters as phenomenal.
Speaking to the CT, Thorn said: “Some of the letters of support I’ve had have been phenomenal – it’s all ‘keep going, we know it’s just round the corner’ and all that sort of thing.
"You can’t buy that – they know how hard the players are working, they know how hard I’m working, they know we’re trying everything to put things right.
“To have the sort of support we’ve had despite what we’ve been going through is brilliant.
"And that’s the most gut-wrenching thing just now because 1,800 of them travelled all the way to Brighton and back last Saturday and we were desperate to send them home happy.
“Let’s be honest, they’ve had nothing to cheer about this year and we’d love to give them something as soon as possible.
“But they can see what we’re trying to do and I think they can see that we’re not that far away and that the bad results haven’t been because we’re short on desire, commitment or hard work.
“For them as much as me and the players, I’m determined we’ll get through this and come out the other side.
“If other people don’t feel the same way then fine – but I certainly won’t give up.”
