Coventry City have confirmed on their website that they are supporting a benefit game for workers who will lose their jobs after the Birmingham based car firm went into administration.
A statement from the club reads: "Coventry City is supporting the benefit game for MG Rover workers, which will be held at St Andrew's Stadium on May 10. The Sky Blues will be sending a number of players to take part in the event along with other local clubs, with fans from around the area encouraged to turn out and support the thousands of Midlands people affected by the closure of the Longbridge plant last week.
Said Micky Adams:"This game is about supporting the Midlands and there's no doubt that the closure of MG Rover affects everyone in the area. "It would be great to see as many people as possible turn out for this game which supports a very worthy cause.
"All of the money raised will go into the benevolent fund to help those affected by the closure of Longbridge and it will be great to think that we can make a real difference to peoples' lives."
Tickets cost £10 and £5 from Birmingham City's ticket office, or by calling 0871 226 1875."
