I completed the 145 mile (233km) non-stop Grand Union Canal Race (GUCR) in 15th place on Sunday 25 May in 33h 30m. There were a total of 110 starters with 61 runners completing the distance.
The race started at 06.00am on Saturday in Birmingham and there was heavy rain for almost the entire first 24 hours which made the challenge even tougher although thankfully the sun came out on Sunday morning.
I struggled with a sore left foot, sore right knee and general tiredness on Sunday but managed to stay strong to finish at 15.30pm on Sunday afternoon in London.
I undertook this challenge to raise money for the Leukaemia and Blood Disease Research Appeal based at the University College London Hospital Haematology Department and so far I have raised a fantastic £3782.50 plus £667.50 in Gift Aid.
I would like to thank everyone who has supported my challenge and more importantly the charity.
The page remains open so please feel free to support the charity by visiting my fundraising page.
Thanks again
