City Supporters Against The Badge

Last updated : 12 January 2005 By Covsupport
The Covsupport inbox has been bulging with comments from City supporters at home and abroad all deeply unhappy with the new badge.

"An act by outsiders jealous of the City's history and tradition ",

"Something drawn by a seven year old and an embarrassment"

"An offence to anyone from Coventry alive or dead",

"Typical of McGinnity, The man has no sense of community. First he sells off our home, then tries to uproot the supporters club and now he's changed our badge for this amateurish sham"

These are just a handful of the printable comments we have received.

At a time, when public confidence in the club is low, we can see no logical reason for the badge which was redesigned in 1972 to be changed.

Like all supporters,we would like to know how much this has cost the club, why there was no consultation on it and is it too late for the badge to be scrapped?

Will we be told and will our views be listened to? We doubt it.

Don't forget you can vote on the badge via the home page.

As an alternative, Rory from CovCityFC.com has spoken to Jo Lea today afeter being sent some badge ideas by a City fan in Bristol who's a graphic designer.

He asked Jo if it was possible to send these to the club to see the standard of them and if there was any possibility that the badge designs could be assessed before letterheads, etc are ordered!

Rory asks if there are any others out there that have "professional" badges they would like to submit? If you have, send them to him within the next 2 days.

A poll will then appear on here Last and CovCityFC.com Forums. Rory's email address is webmaster@covcityfc.com
