Coventry City defender William Edjenguele has praised the 5,021 City supporters at White Hart Lane on Saturday.
Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Alan Poole, the popular Frenchman said: "The supporters were fantastic again at Spurs, singing and getting behind us and I am just disappointed that we couldn’t stay in the game longer.
“I want to say from myself and my team a big thank you to them and hope we will have some good results in the future.
“I think we gave them too much respect in the first half; you want to play on the front foot but we were waiting a bit too much and you can’t do that against them.
“Adebayor is a player I have watched ever since I was very young, when he was at Monaco and watching him play on TV, so to play against him was great. He is a great guy who gave me his shirt at the end and it was a good experience for me.
“I thought I wasn’t too bad against him but at the end of the day we lost and we were disappointed with the goals they got – if they scored from a really good move you can say well done, but they were really silly goals.
“It was a good experience for me and the team but when you lose you cannot be pleased with yourself.
“We should have done a better job, but we showed in the second half that we can play football and create chances, even against one of the best teams in England, so hopefully in League One, especially at home, we can show we can do that as well.”
