KIDDERMINSTER 0-5 COVENTRY CITY SUPPORTERS TEAM
Was a beautiful day in Kidderminster, with both teams looking like they wanted it from the go - more-so the Coventry team, who took the lead through an absolute wonder strike - would say it was easily 25-30 yards out, swerved away from the goalkeeper into the opposite corner.
Kidderminster than put a bit of pressure on, with our keeper Ash being forced into 2 close range saves, before captain Chay put the ball into touch.
It wasn't long until we struck again, with Ryan Harkin deserving his goal, chasing down every ball that was there, and when their defender stalled on the ball, Harkin nipped in and finished neatly with his left foot to make it 2-0.
Shortly after it was 3-0, Harkin again plucking a Berbatov like ball out of the air with it glued to his foot, and curled it neatly around the advancing 'keeper.
Harkin could have had his Hat-trick before half time, with some neat wing play by Connoll, put a hanging cross into the area, and an unmarked Harkin headed just wide from 6 yards out.
Halftime came around, with the Sky Blues dominating the game. - 3-0 to the Sky Blues.
With Kidderminster making an array of changes at half time, they were going for broke and it showed, as the whole shape and momentum changed, with Kiddy making the breaks for the first 15 minutes of the second half, and the defence staying strong and holding it out for those 15 minutes.
It could have been 4-0 almost instantly, with Danny Fraser heading a looping shot over the goalkeeper, only to hit the crossbar! Chay Thompson also missed a golden opportunity when the ball was whipped in by Danny Fraser into the box, being put on a plate, but Chay couldn't convert the chance.
The Sky Blues made it 4-0 mid-way through the second half, with some neat wing play by Connoll Farrell, who finished it off into the bottom corner.
The game then went a bit dull, with the Sky Blues still dominating, myself and Danny Fraser came close with efforts from outside of the area. Chay Thompson also came close, with the keeper making a brilliant save tipping it round the post.
Late in the half, the Sky Blues made it 5-0, with Stefan Wilson making a late dash into the box, and slotting the ball past the Goalkeeper.
Kidderminster weren't to give up though, with 2 late efforts forcing goalkeeper Ash Forsyth into 2 very good saves, the second having to force the ball out for a corner.
The whole team on Saturday was an absolute joy to watch, and I don't think anyone who played was faulted - we were a unit on Saturday, even with the likes of Adam, Steady and DK unavailable. That is why for man of the match, we all agreed that there was not one player who outshone the others - it was a team effort and we played superbly as a team -
