Coventry City supporters were amongst those tear-gassed in Marseille this afternoon ahead of England's game with Russia in Marseille.
Trouble led by Russian gangs meant that the police came in and started tear-gassing supporters, which included a number of City supporters
City supporter Gary Stubbs tweeted: "Just been teargassed, Russians are attacking the English everywhere. @BBCBreakiing it is not England fans starting this!!!"
Another City supporter Jim Lee wrote on Facebook: "Just had my first tear gas experience. Not to be recommended."
BBC Coventry & Warwickshire reporter David Deakin tweeted: "Tear gas everywhere. I was 30yards aways, they were just singing!
"Just watched an England fan slashed. This is mayhem. This wasn't a fight. It was an ambush.
"Balaclavas and knives yet England get the blame.
Yes, England had a larger but chirst. Knives from ultras and tear gas from police. Glad my family know I'm ok.
"In ground we're all safe. We have to get back to car park yet. Police must be held to account."
Amongst those in Marseille tonight include Coventry City Academy Boss Richard Stevens and former City defender Reda Johnson.
