Coventry City are to release Ivor Lawton, according to the Coventry Telegraph.
Lawton ruptured his cruciate knee ligaments going into for a tackle in the 1-1 draw for City U23's.
He has made three appearances for City U23's, two home and one away, but the six month contract he was on is about to expire and the club are expected to release him.
It is a decision which has not gone down well with sections of the City support, as Lawton, a Cov Kid, who was always proud to wear a City shirt, was seen by many, someone who would have given the Sky Blues the fight in midfield, they have often lacked this season.
