Coventry City winger David Bell has said that pre-season season is the most important time for him now.
Bell will miss the rest of the season after being sent for surgery on an ankle injury after a calf injury ruled him out of the games against Reading and Crystal Palace.
"The boys will be giving me a bit of stick saying I scored one goal against Doncaster and now that's my season done," said Bell to Sky Blue World.
"But pre-season is probably the most important part of any season because it stands you in good stead for the whole campaign so the most important thing for me now is to make sure I prepare properly.
"It's been a bit disappointing for me playing through an injury but that's no excuse and I wanted to feature in more games for Coventry before the end of the season but hopefully I can use this time to get myself right for next year."
