Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has said that the Sky Blues will not be playing Italian Serie A side Chievo on a Wednesday.
Chievo's website had the match down as being on Wednesday July 23rd at 5.30pm but the City boss told the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner: "The agreement in the contract that was signed with regards to us going to Italy was that we would be provided with three games on the Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday because we wanted to mirror last season.
“The agent came back with a proposal of playing Chievo on the Wednesday and we declined and said it wasn’t suitable because it didn’t fit the programme we’re working towards.
“Obviously there have been crossed wires between him and the football club, nothing to do with ourselves because we have been absolutely clear about the dates we need for the games.
“So it’s not been a misunderstanding from our end, it’s been from the agency and Chievo’s end because we will only play on the allocated days.
“I am not saying we can’t re-organise it but it will certainly not be taking place on the Wednesday.”
