New Coventry City manager Aidy Boothroyd could be forced to use some of the club's younger players in the opening round of the Football League Cup.
The Carling Cup, for which, the First Round is announced on Wednesday June 16th at 9.30am, will see all the Championship teams apart from Hull City and Burnley involved as well as all the clubs from Leagues One and Two.
The date of when the vast majority of matches in the First Round will be played is Tuesday August 10th and Wednesday August 11th, the same dates that has been pencilled in for the final international friendlies before Euro 2012 qualifiers start in September.
The Republic Of Ireland have already confirmed they will be playing Argentina on August 11th in a match to open their new Aviva Stadium and yet again, City keeper Keiren Westwood is expected to be involved.
Neither Sammy Clingan or Aron Einar Gunnarsson were involved in either Northern Ireland or Iceland's last friendly matches over the weekend just gone, but could feature for their country with Northern Ireland travelling to Montenegro and Iceland entertaining Liechtenstein.
However, it is not just the players that City could be missing. If for any reason such as SKY TV screening the opening fixture live on a Sunday as happened last season, City are drawn at home and the match is moved to take place on Wednesday August 11th, that is the same night that England are at home to Hungary.
With the Sky Blue support boasting a number of England supporters in its ranks and this beng England's first match back on home soil if they had a successful World Cup and shown live on terrestrial television, there is likely to be more interest in the goings-on at Wembley, than at the Ricoh Arena.
Last season, the Sky Blues were affected by the same problem and lost the three aforementioned players plus Leon Best. They fielded a very young side for the home tie against Hartlepool United and were beaten 1-0.
