Jonson Clarke-Harris said that he was pleased how the Sky Blues performed during the 3-1 FA Cup Fifth Round defeat at Brighton & Hove Albion.
Clarke-Harris scored City's goal in that defeat and said to the club website: “It was very pleasing. I think I should have had two at least, I think the first effort I had was unlucky and the second one hitting the outside of the post I should have scored but I’m pleased I got a goal.
“I’m pleased how the team performed in the second half because we gave it a right good go and we’ve come here to a Premier League team with no fear.
“I hit it on the outside of the foot on the half volley and I’ve finessed it.
“I’m made up with that goal to be honest because it’s been a long time for me and it’s a chance for me to get back out there and show everyone what I can do.
"I’ve had an injury, so it’s nice to come and play football and have someone who trusts you.
“You can take positives out of today’s game and that’s something for us to build on heading into the next away game against Mansfield, nobody is down I just don’t think performances have been the best, so we need to go next week.
“I think that’s all it was just confidence and that’s what a goal can do and anything can happen, that’s why football is so good and why I love football because we’ve put Premier League players on the back foot.
“It just goes to show you what can happen in football and if we get another goal and then they would have been more on the back foot.
“I’m really proud of the team, the club and the fans today who have travelled down in numbers.”
