Coventry City captain Sammy Clingan has said that he wants to play at highest levels of the game.
Clingan's representatives are in on-going talks with the club over an extension to his contract which expires on June 30th 2012 and speaking to the CT's Alan Poole, the Northern Irish international said:
“Things are still ongoing, my agent has been in negotiation with the chairman and the manager but I try to put contract talks to the back of my mind and concentrate on my football.
“I know that these are important years in my career coming up.
“I set my ambitions high, I want to play at the best level I can and I would love to do that with Coventry City.
“That’s 100-per-cent coming from the heart; I’ve settled in very well here, I love the area, and I just wish that we could be at the other end of the table pushing for things.
“I got promoted with Nottingham Forest but that was in League One and I’d love to play in the Premier League one day.
“But I try to put all that behind me and focus on training and games. "I really enjoy my job – I come to training looking forward to it every day.”
