Former Coventry City midfielder Cobi Jones has been appointed temporary manager of MLS Side LA Galaxy.
Manager Ruud Guillitt resigned on Monday with one time City trialist Alexi Lalas who was the Managing Director of the team which has David Beckham as their star player.
The 37 year old Jones, was an original member of LA Galaxy and made more than 300 appearances in a 12 year career. he was also capped by USA 164 times.
Jones first game in charge is comes on Thursday night when Galaxy play Los Angeles based Chivas USA.
In the League Cup tonight, former City defender scored for Bristol City in a 2-1 win against Peterborough, Adam Virgo scored twice for Brighton in a 4-0 win at Barnet. Matt Heath scored for Colchester at Gillingham, whilst in the Midland Alliance, John Williams scored for Boldmere St Michaels in a 2-0 win at Highgate United.
