Former Coventry City manager Chris Coleman is currently the second favourite to succeed John Toshack as the Wales manager.
Coleman has been working as a football pundit since he was sacked as manager of Coventry City at then of of another hugely disappointing season for the Sky Blues.
The current Wales manager John Toshack, who has been in the job for six years had hinted that he had taken Wales as far as he could and would step down as manager as soon as a replacement could be appointed.
According to the bookies, Chris Coleman is 7-2 to take be given the job. Brian Flynn, who is currently in charge of the Wales Under 21s is favourite at 2-1.
Another, perhaps surprising name on the list is former Wales captain Ryan Giggs who has been given odds of 6-1. The short odds might reflect the fact that when Mark Hughes was appointed to the Wales hot seat, he was still playing and had no management experience.
When Mark Hughes held the job, his assistant was Mark Bowen and he has followed Hughes to Fulham where is is once again his assistant,
Bowen said, "I've seen the names in the frame and Ryan and Chris Coleman are the two that stick out for me. It would be a steep learning curve for Ryan but perhaps the expectation isn't as high as maybe it once was."
"From Chris Coleman's point of view, he's available, he's out of the game at the moment and he's probably desperate to step in and take the reins and that wouldn't be a bad decision either from my point of view."
Former Sky Blue John Hartson has also thrown his hat into the ring.
