Coleman knows Keegan well from his time at Fulham and told the club website: "Our fans have dipped their hands in their pockets twice in a week and the reward is a massive draw against Newcastle.
"I had two good years under Kevin at Fulham. He signed me from Blackburn and in our first season we lost in the play-offs and then won the league the year after by a country mile.
"We'll all be looking forward to the match. They have some world class players but that won't faze our lads - these are the games they should want to play in.
"It's a reward for them too for the job they did in making sure they overcame a good Aldershot side."
The game will also bring back former Sky Blue Dennis Wise to the club along with Richard Money, who is involved with the player development at Newcastle.
City have met Newcastle 65 times before with the Sky Blues winning on eighteen occasions with sixteen draws. The sides have never met in the League Cup before and have never played each other at the Ricoh Arena.
