Coventry City manager Chris Coleman has welcomed Roy Keane back to football management.

City travel to Ipswich on Sunday May 3rd for what wil be Keane's first game in charge of the Suffolk based club.

"I am not shocked that he is back in the game because he has a lot to offer and is a big, big name in the football world, said Chris Coleman to the CT.

"Maybe I am surprised that he is back so soon and back in our division. That's where he started and took Sunderland up and I can understand why Ipswich have made the choice because his record in this division is very good.

"I wish him all the best of luck in his career at Ipswich. I can't say I know Roy that well. I have had a few conversations with him manager to manager and he's a gentleman and it is a very shrewd move by Ipswich.

"I am disappointed for Jim Magilton who I know very well but we all know the pitfalls of management. I watched the game against Norwich last weekend and Ipswich played well and won 3-2 and that just goes to show what football is like. I wish Jim all the best but I don't suppose he'll be out of a job too long because he is a good manager."

On the forthcoming game at Portman Road, Coleman said: "Does it change that game next Sunday for us?, Yes, it does because that will be his first home game and he will get a lift from the players and fans.

"So it spices it up for us and we can't afford to go into it with one foot on the beach."
