Chris Coleman has tried to explain why he did not bring on Coventry City's long time servant and local lad Marcus Hall.
Hall has not been given a new contract and has now played his last game for his home town club. Coleman told Hall last week that he wouldn't be starting the home game against Watford because he wanted to field his strongest team, but he would try to get him on at some stage of the game.
However, it wasn't to be and Coleman explained the bizarre decision not to allow a player who has worn the Sky Blue shirt on 270 occasions by saying, "Marcus has been a great servant and he's very popular with the fans, but I didn't want his last involvement to be in a debacle like that, it would have been unfair to put him through that nonsense."
