Coventry City manager Chris Coleman has according to the CT, been left disappointed by the decision of unwanted defender, but still popular with a section of the City support, Elliott Ward not to go out on loan.
Coleman, who insisted that West Ham have had all payments for the defender who is out of contract at the end of the season told the CT: "it's no secret that I have been speaking with Elliott Ward.
"He has been here for three or four seasons and I think it's time for a change for him and us - we want to go down different avenues and I think it is best for Elliott he does the same.
"If players want to stay here and pick up their money without playing on a Saturday there is nothing I can do about that because it is in their contract. But your playing days are your best days so you should make the most of it, whether you are in the same division, the one above or below.
"Although we are all agreed that it is time that Elliott moved on and that a parting of the ways would be best for all concerned. I wouldn't cut my nose off to spite my face - If I thought he could help us get a result I would pick him.
"Coventry City comes first. The club is more important than Chris Coleman - maybe in the past my ego has gotten the better of me a couple of times but you learn the hard way."
