Speaking after the game, a delighted Coleman whose team take on his hometown club Swansea City on Tuesday night said: "We came here with a gameplan. We did to Sheffield Wednesday what's happened to us so many times this season.
"We never really attempted to play pretty football. We've not won here apparently for a long, long time and we said let's go there and do to them what's been done to us week in, week out.
"I'm as proud of my players as I was when we won at Birmingham.
"In terms of character and the players not going missing I thought we were fantastic."
