Chris Coleman who has become Coventry City's 37th manager after signing a three and a half year deal has been unveiled at a press conference this afternoon.

The press conference was delayed following the postponement of the league game at Sheffield Wednesday and saw Coleman say: "It's is a big challenge and a wonderful opportunity. I am delighted to be here. Ray shares the same vision as I do and he has a long a term plan which attracted me to the club.

"Most important thing for me was where the club want to be in two to three years time. We have to improve to get out of the league position we are in and I'm confident that we can go forward.

"I had two conversations with Ray and was pleasantly surprised by what he had to say and I did not need much persuading to take the job."

Coleman said to Sky afterwards that, he had received a warm welcome in a premiership ground and he was looking forward to getting a team to play in it. Coventry proved the chunky challenge that he was lookiing for after being employed in Spain.

He added that City have to get points to get out of trouble and he will strengthen in the summer. It is not going to be easy but he was looking forward to a challenge he was not going to turn down.

Ray Ranson is a football person and I pick and choose the players. I was glad that the game at Sheffield Wednesday tonight was off.
