That is something that has been in short supply over the years and you have to go back to Jimmy Hill's days in the 1960's when the Sky Blues were near any form that could be described as consistent.
Speaking to Sky Blue Player at the club's weekly press conference, Aidy Boothroyd said: "What we need to do is make sure we are in and around the top teams until March or April time when the business end of the season kicks in.
"That will take consistency because I firmly believe the most consistent team will win the league will win it because the Championship is as open as it's ever been.
"We've showed some great little bits and pieces in our attacking and defensive play and we've scored a few goals so what we need to do is tie it all together and that will come from hard work on the training pitch."
