Former Coventry City midfielder Paul Cook has said that whoever can transform the Sky Blues in to a winning team will really get them going.
Speaking to the Sheffield Star about his former club who visit the Proact Stadium today, Cook, the Chesterfield boss, said: “It was massive for me as a young lad to play in the Premier League for Coventry.
“In those days we were in Highfield Road and we’d regularly fill the ground and it was a great atmosphere playing against all the big teams.
“Coventry are a massive club, they’ve got great support and I really hope that Tony can pick them up again, it’s not good to see clubs like that going through what they’re going through.
“Whoever gets Coventry going again will really get them going.
“I hope it’s Tony and he the minute they get going they’ll go forwards at a rate of knots and I’ll be one of the most pleased people to see that.”
