Former Coventry City youngster Greg Abbott is temporarily stepping away from football whilst he has treatment for prostate cancer.
The 54 year old Abbott, who was born in Coventry, is now chief scout at Bradford City AFC after management spells at Carlisle United and as assistant at Notts County.
Abbo told the Bradford City club website: "Reluctantly, i'll be taking some time away from the club but I'll be back.
"i have planned everything in my abscence from pre-season friendly fixtures, games for scouts to watch, players to observe and chase, so we will be well placed come the end of the season."
