The Hatters lead the table by a point from Notts County who drew 1-1 at Carlisle United with Accrington who won 2-0 at Crewe in third place.
Fourth are Exeter City who were beaten 1-0 at home by Port Vale, with Wycombe who lost 1-0 at seventh placed Swindon in fifth place, Newport who drew 1-1 with Mansfield in sixth.
Bottom of the table are Chesterfield with eight points after a 2-1 defeat at Cambridge United with Forest Green Rovers, four points above them after a 2-1 win at Stevenage.
