NEW BOOK FOR SKY BLUES FANS!
October sees the launch of Coventry City On This Day, written by Sky Blues author and lifelong supporter Steve Phelps.
The book chronicles, in diary form, the major events in the Sky Blues’ long and colourful history. It captures the club’s early years through to the golden era of the 1980s and that classic Wembley final in 1987.
With individual entries for each day of the year and multiple listings for busier times, this book includes all the club’s big matches, promotions, relegations, cup runs, and signings together with the development of the club over the decades.
It is Phelps' third book on the club, and he explained, "The book includes all the key moments in the club's history - the 1987 Cup Final, promotions, relegations, giant-killings - but also details of some of the quirkier moments.
"Readers will find out which comedian's father masterminded a cup humiliation for the Sky Blues; whose career lasted just one minute; and which BBC pundit netted for City, beating the England goalkeeper of the day."
Priced £9.99, and published by Pitch Publishing, Coventry City On This Day also includes an array of black-and-white photographs. The 192-page book is a perfect gift for any Sky Blues fan. It can be ordered at www.ccfcshop.co.uk or by calling 0844 873 1883.
