According to reports on Sky Sport Aidy Boothroyd is responding to the rebuff by Everton to take their young striker Lukas Jutkiewicz on loan, by preparing an offer to buy the 21 year old.
Boothroyd had hoped to get in a couple of forwards from Premiership clubs on season long loans and Jutkiewicz was one of those players, but Everton wanted a permanent deal.
The City boss revealed last week that he did have funds available to but players, but that he preferred the loan option rather than to spend much of his transfer budget, but he is a big admirer of Jutkiewicz and so is now in the process of tabling an bid to David Moyes.
Jutkiewicz spent last season on loan at Scottish club Motherwell. He joined Everton from Swindon two years ago, but with the arrival of one time City target Beckford from Leeds, he will fall further down the pecking order and so Moyes is prepared to let him leave with one year left on his contract.
