It has emerged that scouts from Coventry City and Birmingham City were at Portman Road on Saturday to run their eye over striker Jason Scotland.

Scotland is not a first choice striker in Paul Jewell's side, but he came on as a substitute and scored a goal in Town's 2-1 win over Leeds on Saturday.

Scotland, who is from Trinidad, says he is happy at Ipswich and wants to fight for win a place in the starting eleven.

Paul Jewell has not ruled out selling Scotland, who has a year left on his Portman Road contract, but he is not in a hurry to sell.

He said, “Arsenal can’t keep hold of Fabregas and Nasri, so if someone comes in and offers silly money for any player, but we’re not kicking them out of the door. I’ve said all along, every player here, as long as they give everything, will be considered. Whoever that is.”

The 32 year-old Scotland has previously been linked with  his former club Swansea and Sheffield Wednesday.
