Coventry City manager Aidy Boothroyd is set to sign his fifth new player since taking over from Chris Coleman in the summer.
Boothroyd wants to bring in two forwards on loan from Premiership clubs, but he has revealed that he does have money available to make permanent signings if he can find the right player.
The City boss is eager to get the new face into his squad ready for tomorrows friendly at Walsall.
Boothroyd revealed, "We are very, very close on one player. We are very close on three players actually, but we may as well be miles away because they are not here yet."
"I am impatient trying to get them in because having spent a bit of time out of the game you forget what this period of time is like with lots of transfer speculation and lots of phone calls that sometimes don't come through."
"There are lots of false promises and then now and again you get something that you can grab on to and it comes off, and they are worth it. It is a it like being a golfer and taking 15 shots and getting a good hole in one because he has worked hard at that and that's what we are doing now, working hard to get players in."
"Some we have hit the post on, some we have got nowhere near and some we didn't want anyway."
He concluded by saying, "It's a day by day thing and Saturday's team will depend on what comes in in the next few hours or minutes."
