Birmingham City continue to look a good bet for automatic promotion back to the Premier League after a 4-0 away win at Southend. Gary McSheffrey scored for the Divisional leaders.
Elsewhere,there were wins for Stoke,Preston and QPR all 1-0. There were draws at Burnley,Leeds,Leicester,Sheff Wed and Wolves to go with Palace beating Sunderland 1-0 last night.

Locally, Rugby Town lost their Southern League Premier Division game at Team Bath 2-1 and Bedworth United lost by the same score at Rothwell Town. Martin Crawford scored for the Greenbacks in the 90th minute but Craig Davies was sent off for a second bookable offence.
Leamington continue to top the Midland Alliance with a 4-3 home win over Romulus. Former Sky Blue youngsters Moreton Titterton and Ben Mackey were amongst the goals for Jason Cadden's side. Stratford lost 3-1 at Oldbury whilst Atherstone Town were beaten 3-2 at Studley. Leamington's next game is away to Racing Club Warwick on Boxing Day (Kick off 12 noon)
Coventry Sphinx who are hoping to compete in the Alliance next season, continued their march towards the top of the table with a 2-0 win at Southam United. Cameron Murdoch and Adam Knibbs scored for Sphinx whose face local rivals Copsewood at home on Boxing Day (Kick off 11.30am).
Sphinx were the only local side to win in the Midland Combination Premier Division. Coventry Copsewood lost 1-0 at home to Coleshill, Massey Ferguson lost 1-0 at home to Barnt Green whilst Nuneaton Griff were beaten 1-0 at Meir KA.
Leamington Hibernian and Coventry Sphinx Reserves matches were postponed but Warwick Town were beaten 3-0 at Wernley Athletic.
Stockingford are through to the Fourth Round of the Birmingham Vase with a 3-0 home win over Stockton.
