Coventry City manager Chris Coleman has been explaining why he dropped Martin Cranie. The defender, signed from Portsmouth finds himself now on the bench after starting the season well for City playing at centre half and right back.
Speaking to the CT, Coleman said: “Martin has got to stop playing within himself because he has got a bit more to offer.
“He needs games as well because he has missed out but he has got a bit to offer and he has got to tap into that and keep working hard because when he is on his game he is a good player.
“He started well and sometimes that happens when they come in, they do well and then have a dip in form, especially younger players and he’s only 23.
"But he has been here four months and he has certainly got the tools in his bag. But, for me, he doesn’t open his bag and get them out enough. But if he starts doing that he has certainly got something to offer, for sure.
“He has not sulked and has had the bit between his teeth this week and it is nice to see that type of reaction.
"He has not felt sorry for himself as some people do if they are not playing or someone has come in to their position.
"He is a really good age and the best is yet to come from him.
