It was announced yersterday that the Coventry born defender would not be offered a new contract for next season and Cranie told the CT: "I will be sorry to see Marcus leave.
"I have only known him since August but he is a great character to have around the club and a big influence on the lads. He has played here for many years and everyone loves him so we will be sad to see him go.
"A lot of the younger lads can learn a lot from him because he has been such a good professional for so long and I am sure the fans and everyone will be sad to see him go.
"Marcus has got some good banter in the dressing room and I think all the lads would say that, so we will miss just having him around on a day-to-day basis.
"He has had his problems off the pitch this year and not played as many games as he would have liked because of injuries and things, so it has been a tough year for him. But hopefully he will find a good club and go on and play a few more games."
