Crawley Not After Leon Clarke

Crawley Town manager John Gregory has distanced himself from stories linking the club with loan moves for former Coventry City striker Leon Clarke.

The Birmingham Mail are quoting Gregory, who is manager of a club which has laid off staff and taken back offers of deals to players, as saying: “I have had no conversations with Leon or anyone else from Wolves. I wish it was true but they paid £750,000 for him and he is earning around £10,000 per week so I don’t think it will happen!”

Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has already said that he is not interested in taking Clarke back.
