Boothroyd (pictured below) whose team have not won a league match since December 4th, told the Press Association: "We conceded two very poor goals.
"We talk about managing a game and understanding how to win a game and Forest have shown us how to do that, how to slow it down, how to stop momentum.
"They have been around for a while and they are at the top for a reason because they have been well drilled over a number of months and years and they know what they are doing. "Here, two daft errors have cost us.
"Keiren Westwood is the best goalkeeper in the Championship without a shadow of a doubt and he has made an error but that's football, sometimes your best players do make errors. But he has held his hand up, he gets on with it and that's it.
"We've only got ourselves to blame because you have got to defend your lines better.
"We are almost trying too hard to turn it around at the moment but there will come a time where it will all just fall into place and we will be back to winning again and we've just got to persevere, keep calm and carry on."
