Dann had not played after injuring his shoulder at Reading but came back for the second half at Blackburn and put in an excellent shift which has won him praise from his manager.
"He was worried because he hadn't played for two months, but I said I was going to have to throw him in and it was good for him because you don't come up against Santa Cruz, Benni McCarthy and Jason Roberts every week," said Chris Coleman to the CT.
"Premier League strikers are a big test for him and he didn't have a problem with all three of them.
"I think he showed what we are looking at in the next two or three years and, for me, I think he will be a Premier League centre-back, hopefully with us.
"He has shown that he can do both sides of his game. "He can be gritty and strong and he is very calm on the ball as well.
"He is excellent in the air and I think on Saturday he showed why he is our captain because he was very vocal and leading it, so I was very happy with his performance."
