Calum Davenport was arrested in his home town of Bedford on Saturday night.
The former City defender now at Spurs was questioned by police after allegations that he attacked another man in a nightclub fight. Davenport was released on bail whilst two others were held.
Bedfordshire police said: "Bedfordshire Police were called to the Oxygen nightclub in Midland Road following a report of a minor disturbance. "Shortly after their arrival, police arrested one man on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm and two others on suspicion of disorderly conduct under the Public Order Act.
"All the men, who were in their early 20s, were taken to Greyfriars Police Station in the town. "The man arrested on suspicion causing actual bodily harm, and one of the men arrested on suspicion or disorderly conduct, were later released on police bail without charge.
"The third man received an £80 fixed penalty notice."
