Scunthorpe United boss Nicky Daws has said that he is pleased to have taken Jim O'Brien on loan from Coventry City for a month.
Daws told the Scunthorpe Telegraph: "I was made aware of Jim's availability and have been aware of it for quite a while. We decided we'd hang fire a little bit initially, but saw yesterday as a window of opportunity to get the move done.
"Luke Williams has got a slight knock, but it's more for the fact we've been playing pretty much all our midfield players week in, week out.
"With the number of games coming around, it was too good an opportunity not to take someone of Jim's quality. He can play wide right, he can play in three, stroke four, of the midfield positions we've been utilising in the last four weeks. We're really pleased to get him board."
