City face Middlesbrough at home on Saturday, who they have not beaten in Coventry since 2000, then travel to Reading, where they have lost three times in consecutive matches before facing Norwich, Cardiff and QPR who are all currently above City in the Championship table.
"This is the time of year when everyone connected with our club has to pull together to make sure we get the games on, make sure we keep everyone fit and make sure that all the boys are focused on the training," Boothroyd said to the Coventry Observer's Steve Carpenter at the club's weekly press conference.
"This is one of the times when a lot of teams cant deal with distractions and we need to make sure we are one of the teams that do so that come January we are in a good position.
"We have Middlesbrough coming up Saturday, then we go away to reading, then Norwich and then we are into the Christmas programme when we have a lot of games and a lot of points to play for."
"Over the Christmas period we are playing teams that are around us and that's a good opportunity to take points off them, although first and foremost we have a difficult game against Middlesbrough at the weekend."
