Coventry City midfielder Gary Deegan can't wait for pre-season to start.
The Irishman was out for over a year with an ankle injury but played the last ten minutes of the final game against Norwich City.
Deegan told the CT: "It was really nice to be involved again but my aim was always next year so I just want to get a really good pre-season under my belt and look forward to that.
"i was on the bench for the last six weeks of the season and I think the manager could see I was ready but I don't think he was willing to risk me because I have been out for a year.
"But I was happy with that because I have been out that long that to get any time on the pitch was a bonus.
"I have really missed it so it was great to get a run out at Norwich. I am not going to lie, it was physically tough and I was breathing out of both ends but I think when you get on the ball and get a feel of it again, the adrenaline kicks in and you put the fitness on one side.
"It has been really tough being out for the last twelve months, but I have got a lot of good family and friends have a lot of support of them as well as the rest of the lads and am I just looking forward to regularly playing again and getting my career back up and running."
