Dele Adebola won't be celebrating if he scores against Crewe on Sunday or if the Sky Blues win. The Nigerian is started his career at Gresty Road, playing an intergral part of their 1997 promotion to Division 1. The Nigerian-born Merseysider, now 29, came through Crewe's ranks as a youngster and played a central role in their 1997 promotion to the old First Division before being sold for a £1m transfer fee when he joined Birmingham City in February 1998.
Dele Won't Celebrate At Crewe
He told This Is Staffordshire: "I have a lot of fond memories from Crewe, who gave me my first professional contract. "Dario is a great manager and I honestly don't think I would have learned half as much about the game if he'd not taken me on as a kid. "But I have to be professional and that means there is no room for sentiment. Having said that, if I do score a goal I won't be celebrating it.
"The way we are playing, with Stern John having scored four in three games and Gary McSheffrey also in form, means it is going to be a tough task for Crewe to beat us.
"Couple that with the fact we've not been conceding too many goals and it is going to be hard for them. "But I will be gutted after the game if they are relegated."
