Coventry City Academy boss Gregor Rioch was delighted with City’s 3-2 victory at Bristol Rovers this afternoon.
City took a 3-0 lead before the break but were pegged back in the second half after Billy Daniels had two good chances to wrap the match up.
Speaking to Sky Blue Player, Rioch said: "Such as been the high standards the boys have set for themselves they actually came off the pitch disappointed at their second half performance but I was delighted with the way they acquitted themselves in difficult conditions.
"When Rovers grabbed their second two minutes into injury time myself and Richard Stevens looked at each other for a few seconds but the boys were terrific. The late drama was something else to experience in terms of their development and staying steadfast and now their reward is a trip to Ewood Park in the fourth round.
"They've got a couple of weeks break now which they can enjoy now and concentrate on staying fit so we can all look forward to the league game against Bristol City and the next cup game against Blackburn.”
