Derby Game Is A Monster - Coleman

Coventry City manager Chris Coleman has described the Championship game against Derby on Saturday as a "Monster".

"We weren't good enough in the second half on Tuesday night and that's why we got nothing," said Coleman to the CT.

"But we will put that to bed because we have got a monster game against Derby on Saturday and the finger is pointing at everyone.

"I want to see my defenders defend and a bit more from my attackers.

"If we lose possession in our own half, as we did with Michael Mifsud, the ball is still a long way from the goal.

"But after that there was a domino effect of mistakes and the ball was in the back of the net.

"Our defenders can say that we are making chances and when we don't put the ball in the back of the net it is putting extra pressure on them.

"But we are paid to defend and, ultimately, you are judged on how well you defend and how many clean sheets you keep.

"We started really well with three in the first six or seven games but I don't think we have kept once since Preston.

"So forget about our strikers not scoring - we have got to go back to basics and say that if we are not going to score, they are not going to score.

"I need to see some gutsy defending on Saturday. I am going to say to the defenders and goalkeeper 'what are you going to offer me today?'

"It's not happening for us elsewhere but when you are called upon you need to answer those questions."
