It is believed that Derby County have made an offer for Coventry City's Richard Keogh.
The club have admitted they have recently received a fresh bid from an unnamed club and have reportedly given Keogh permission to talk to other clubs.
Coventry have rebuffed at least two offers for Keogh, one from Bristol City of around £250,000 was rejected as derisory and another of around £800,000 from Cardiff City was also rejected.
Keogh has a year left on his Coventry City contract and although Andy Thorn would love to keep his player of the year, he is resigned to losing him as the club would prefer to let him leave now and get a fee for him rather than letting him walk away at the end of next season for nothing.
Keogh did not play in the 8-0 walloping of Hinckley United on Saturday not has he travelled to Scotland for the three game pre-season tour.
In addition to Cardiff and Bristol, Derby and Leeds are also interested in signing Keogh and it is Derby who are thought to be the unnamed club who have made the offer.
Thorn was asked who the unnamed club was but he only gave the enigmatic answer, "It is not who everyone might think it is," giving rise to the speculation that it was Derby rather than Leeds, Cardiff or Bristol.
