Dickinson Has Been Fantastic For Us - Carsley

Coventry City Caretaker Manager Lee Carsley has described loanee Carl Dickinson as fantastic.

Dickinson was brought in as cover for Blair Adams and is at City until after the home game with Hartlepool United on March 16th.

Speaking about Dickinson to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner, Lee Carsley said: "Carl’s been fantastic; a real leader and warrior at the back.

"He organises and talks well in the dressing room and he’s a player the lads look up to and who they can count on."

City brought in Jordan Stewart to replace Dickinson before a tranfer embargo was imposed and Carsley said about the 30 year old Stewart, who has played for Leicester City and whose last club was Notts County back in December: "We could have gone out and got a young left-back in but we went for a little bit more experience.

"I was impressed by the way Jordan played against us for Notts County earlier in the season; nothing weird and wonderful but just defended well and used the ball well which is what we’re looking for.

"He’s sort of like for like with Carl. He’s got Premier League experience and been around a long time in terms of his experience, so he’s a good player.

"Jordan's not played for a couple of months so we can almost put a mini pre-season in to him before he starts.

"I think his last game was at the end of December so rather than fast-track him we’ve got a short period where we can make sure his legs are up to it and put some leg strength into him and assess where he is physically before he joins in with the group.

"He was keeping himself fit and doing a bit of training with another team but he’ll get a development game before he plays."
