Do Supporters Back Wembley Sale

Last updated : 05 October 2018 By FSF

The FA Council is due to vote on the potential sale of Wembley later this month – and supporters are being asked to have their say on the controversial proposals.

Wembley Stadium could be sold to Shahid Khan, owner of the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars and Fulham FC, for around £600m. It was revealed this week that the FA Board will be asking its Council to agree the sale later this month.

Now we’re asking supporters to have their say on the sale by taking part in a short survey -  supporters’ views will be shared with the FA’s decision-making body by the two supporter representatives that sit on the Council.

Chair of the FSF Malcolm Clarke said: “The sale of Wembley is a controversial topic so it’s vitally important that supporters have their say.

“As supporter representatives, myself and Tom Greatrex will take the results of our findings directly to the FA Council and we encourage all supporters to take the time to participate in this consultation.”

If it accepted Khan’s offer, the FA say they would to continue to own Club Wembley, which is valued at £300m and have pledged to spend the money earned from the sale on investment in grassroots facilities.
